History: Ali was once a 'street rat,' who had a knack for pick pocketing. He never knew his parents, having been dumped in an alley in the Slums on the day he was born. He grew up learning to survive by avoiding detection and stealing what he could. When he was twelve, he found his parents. His father was long since dead, having been killed by his Elven mother, who was a skilled assassin.
His mother told Ali that he was an accident. He just happened during his mother's seduction of his father. However, she couldn't bring herself to kill her own child. So, she left him in an alley. After questioning his mother about his age and birthday, Ali left his mother's home, to live a new life away from Eden. He went to Old Vhey'Gahn, where, after proving himself, he became the Thief Prince at age 17. Since then, he ruled in luxury.
When Ali was 26, his mother came to him, requesting help. He had heard of this beforehand, and he had hired an assassin. Since he couldn't bring himself to kill his own mother, like she couldn't kill him, Ali had the assassin kill her, right in front of his eyes. Once she was dead, Ali had her dipped in molten gold, and had her standing next to his throne. He claimed that, even though she abandoned him, she was still his mother, so he wanted to keep her close. When asked why he killed her, if he wanted to keep her close, he said that he didn't want her to betray him again. That got him the nickname 'The Golden Child.'
A hundred years passed without anything really interesting happening during his reign, besides his vast fortune growing larger and larger. Then, something happened that made him 'enforce' his status at the Golden Child. He had two women, who he had chosen to be his wives, and bear his children. They were sisters, Almasa and Dahab. He loved them dearly, and he thought they loved him as well, but it was all a sham.
Almasa and Dahab were thieves. They had been stealing from Ali for years, a little at a time, and had been giving the gold to their father. When Ali was informed of this, he was doubting, and decided to see for himself. However, when he found out that the information was true, he was outraged. He had them killed, and he dipped them in molten gold as well, and now keeps them by his bed. He claims that they're there to remind him not to trust too easily.
After that incident, Ali became cold, distant, and not as loud as he used to be. Now, all he cares about is getting more riches, and drinking his sorrows away. Though he's still very social, he rarely speaks, and when he does, it's strictly business.
