Slasher sat perched on a rooftop in the Slums, looking over the place. The smells were rancid. However, his target was here. Problem was, he didn't really know who his target was. He didn't know if it was a male, or female, or if it even had a gender!
'Your target is in the Slums.' Pretty vague explanation, but the pay was good. He just had to do some more investigating than usual. His katars were on the ground to his right, and he took a deep breath, before exhaling slowly. His ribs were killing him!
Grunting, he reached into his coat and took out a syringe. He stuck it into his arm, before injecting a green subtance into his veins. It was foolish to rely on pain killers, but he needed it right now. This was a mistake, since his senses were numbed by the pain killers for the first five minutes.
Grunting, he jumped off the roof and spread his wings, floating down to the ground and landing in front of a bar. "Perfect." he spoke in a monotone voice as he entered the bar and spotted an empty seat, next to an Orc. He slowly walked over to the bar and sat down, ordering a glass of wine, before grunting, clutching his ribs. It'd be a few minutes before the pain killers kicked in.

Draht looked over to see the demon to his left. He always did like demons. The women were beautiful, the men were strong, and the could all hold their booze. This one though, his eye was the eye of a man on a mission, he was tense. Draht grinned, maybe it was the booze talking, but he didn't seem like a bad guy. Looking over at a beautiful elven barmaid he waved her over, "Hey, get a round of drinks for the new guy on me."
"Of course, Draht."
Draht smiled, he was a regular here, they all knew him by name.

Slasher hummed as the barmaid set a glass of wine in front of him, courtesy of the Orc to his right. He took a sip and hummed again, before turning his head to be able to look at the Orc with his good eye.
"Nobody ever buys me a drink, unless they want something from me. The question is..." He gazed coldly into the Orc's eyes. "what do you want from me?"

"You're a man on a mission, I can see that, and I'm a mercenary looking for work. You can put two and two together can't you, demon?"
Draht chugged down the rest of his beer and ordered another round.
"I don't even want half, I've been working for years, I have plenty of money. I just want something to do. Someone to kill. You can help me."

Slasher stared hard at the Orc, pondering. He was good, to be able to tell that he had someone to kill. He nodded. This Orc probably knew this place better than him, and would be good to have with him.
"They call me Slasher, and you got yourself a deal, Draht, was it? We'll split the bounty 50/50. I'm a fair man."
He held out his hand for the Orc to shake.

Draht smiled and shook his hand, this man was honorable, he liked that. He smiled wider when his beer was placed in front of him.
"We'll head off as soon as we finish our drinks. I hate to leave good booze lying around."
Taking his mug he raised it to Slasher with a grin.
"To fame, fortune, and all the beautiful women in Traum-Rand!"

A smile flickered across Slasher's face, and he raised his glass, giving a nod, before sipping his wine. He liked this guy. Usually, he didn't hang out in a lot of bars that had people in it, since most people were just useless drunks, but perhaps this Orc could help him.
"You don't smell fully like Orc," he spoke casually, noting that his senses were returning. "You smell human, too."

"Aye. My past is dark, bloody, and full of evil. It shows the worst of many things. I have seen a thousand battles. Heard millions of strong men beg for their lives. I've killed men, women, children. I've killed Mothers and Fathers and Brothers and Sisters. I've killed lovers as they held each other in the middle of sex. Just like my father, and his father, and his father, and even further back. My mother was human...raped by my bastard father...he sold me out for his own life. I was a slave for eight years because of him."
Draht took another drink of his beer his eyes seeming to age him centuries.
"What's your story? How's you lose that eye?"

Slasher slowly sipped his drink as he listened to Draht. When asked about the eye, he smiled a little as he reached up and touched his eye patch.
"Oh, this? I fell and his my eye on a chair," he said casually, before chuckling lightly. "No, I'm kidding. My story is pretty bloody as well, and I have no realy wish to talk about it. I don't remember my name, or my parents. I don't want to remember. However, the eye... Well, I had someone once. I was going to take her as my mate, when we were attacked by pirates. She was killed by a stab through the heart. In a rage, I cut down the pirates, but the leader managed to cut out my eye. After that, I became an assassin..."
He took a sip on his whine, before continuing. "I can't bring myself to care about a lot anymore, and the only thing for me is my next target. Could be worse, I guess. I hear there's another demon in the Rotting City, who's a real nutcase. I hear he just lives to hurt others to make himself feel better."

"Yeah. I've heard of him. I wonder what turned him like that. I mean...demons are a tough lot...to go bat shit crazy like that...it must have been bad."
Draht finished off his beer and stood grinning. Putting money on the counter paying for his and Slasher's drinks he walked over to the elven barmaid and handed her a few coins as a tip.
"For being such a great girl. I'll see you when this job is done."
Walking back over he grinned and looked at Slasher.
"Ready to go my new demonic partner in slaughter?"

Slasher nodded slowly. His life had been pretty damn bad, but he didn't even turn out like that. He watched as the Orc gave the barmaid her tip, before walking over to him. He nodded and stood up, making sure that his katars were safely strapped to his person, before gesturing for the door.
"After you, partner. You know this place, and its people pretty well, no?"

Draht walked out of the bar and looked around.
"The most important thing is...what race is he?"

He sighed, scratching his head. "That's why I need you. The gender is unknown, as is the name and race. All I know is that my client, a Wolfkin named Lokhar, wants me to kill someone who angered him greatly, and insulted him."
Slasher sighed again as he looked around. "He wanted a good assassin, so he didn't tell me the name, gender or race. He just told me where to find the target. That's why I need to know. Have you heard of anyone angering the Wolfkin Lokhar?"

"Aye. An Orc. Most races are pretty friendly with the Wolfkin, except the Orcs."
Draht stared off into the distance for a few moments before turning to the left.
"That means we have to head west. There is a bar that serves mostly Orcs. Someone there will know something."

Slasher nodded and started walking. "Then West we go."
He looked up and sighed. He'd much rather travel by rooftops, but he was certain his new partner wouldn't like that, so they had to walk.
"Do you know anyone there who could help us find what we seek, or are we going to have to use force?"
